History
Founded in 2021, yet started in the early 2000's, our publishing company is excited to finally open our doors. "It's All Relative" refers to the idea of being family and friend-oriented. We started by sharing our writing with those we know and love, in hopes of them sharing it with those they love, and so on. We are absolutely delighted to start this publishing company, and are eager to share our writings with the world!

Motivational Boost #1; Chicago; 2003
Back in 2003, Dave was attaining his undergraduate degree from University of Illinois. While he was waiting for public transportation in Chicago, he stepped on something that made him stop and look down. A gold necklace chain was twirled around next to his foot, so he decided to lift his foot up. Underneath was a gold-colored butterfly necklace, and he stared in disbelief as he bent down to pick it up. The most enigmatic part about it all, was that one of the wings on the butterfly was broken. Dave picked it up, and the next time he saw me- he was able to tell me this story and give me the necklace as a gift. I felt a huge motivational boost to keep writing our story. At this point, I really wanted to share it with the world, but I knew it would take a lot of hard work.
Motivational Boost #2; 2012
In order to make a dream happen, you don't have any other choice but to give it all you've got. When we were first swapping writings back and forth, Dave gave me a poem he wrote. His intentions always have a deep meaning, even if I don't see the purpose immediately- so I never take my brothers gestures lightly. This poem has physically moved with me during work travels across the United States in a frame. Around the frame hangs the golden butterfly necklace. This poem was always a source of motivation that I needed to keep going. This poem forever pushed me forward to continue going towards this dream, or this "star in the sky".
Motivational Boost #3; Kennesaw National Battlefield, GA; June, 2015
I spent almost nine years supervising high school students and young adults doing outdoor environmental work- working on trail systems in the United States. When I have a moment of deep connection with nature, it leaves a long-lasting impact on me. I was supervising High School students in Kennesaw National Battlefield, as we cleaned our trail tools off one hot summer afternoon in Georgia. This butterfly with a broken wing landed on my water bucket, as I stared in awe. As if it wanted to help satisfy my curiosity, it then flew and landed right next to where I was sitting. I couldn't help but stare and smile at this butterfly with a broken wing. I took a picture and showed it to my brother when I "emerged from the woods". We took it as sign to keep working on our butterfly book.
